Club Rides (under COVID guidlines)

Winter 2021 Schedule:

Even though Scotland has moved beyond Level-0 COVID restrictions, record of attendance is still a requirement. Therefore, any club ride can only go ahead if the club complies with current guidelines. Every rider taking part in a club ride must complete the relevant details requested in the web-link below. It must be ensured this is completed before the ride takes place. If not completed the rider cannot take part in the club ride. All that is requested is name, contact telephone number and date of the ride.

MFCC Club Ride Registration (google.com)

If you have questions on any of the club rides, just get in touch with the club at info@mfcc.org.uk

Non-club members are welcome to join any club ride a couple of times, before deciding if they wish to join the club.

Saturday – Club Ride

Training road ride using one of five routes (Brodie / Maryburgh / Cromarty / Cannich / Foyers) varying between 40 and 50 miles, with the 2nd Saturday of every month to include a café stop around the mid-point of the ride. Meeting point to be from Bishops Rd Car Park (0900Hrs sharp).  Groups to be a maximum of 9 riders. If there is a risk of frost/ice, then the default route will be Maryburgh. To provide upfront information, details of the selected route will be posted on the club Facebook Page (normally posted on a Thursday evening). To take part, each rider must complete their registration details prior to the ride. To help the groups to be organised prior to the club ride taking place, it’s appreciated by the organisers if registration is done by 1800hrs on the Friday prior to the ride.

Sunday – Gravel Ride (last Sunday of every month)

Beginning on Sunday 31st October a Gravel ride is to take place on the last Sunday of every month. The intention is for two groups (a fast group and an intermediate group). The weather will be the determining factor on the ride length, terrain and whether ice tyres are required for sub-zero winter conditions. The meeting place will alter from week to week depending on which side of town the ride is going, but the proposed time is 0800hrs sharp departure. To provide upfront information, details of the selected route, meeting point etc. will be posted on the club Facebook Page (normally posted on a Thursday evening). To take part, each rider must complete their registration details prior to the ride. To help the groups to be organised prior to the club ride taking place, it’s appreciated by the organisers if registration is done by 1800hrs on the Friday prior to the ride.

Sunday – Women’s Club Ride (first Sunday of every month)

Planned dates for Womens’s only rides are:
• Sunday 7th November
• Sunday 5th December
• Sunday 2nd January
• Sunday 6th February
Meeting place to be Bishops Rd Car Park (0900Hrs sharp) with the likelihood of the first couple of rides being road rides with the final three being gravel rides as the weather will then be more suited for gravel/ice tyres. Routes will be prepared in advance that can be downloaded as a .gpx file and distributed to registered riders.
