Podium for Natalie in Scottish Women’s Road Race Series 2016

Moray Firth CC rider Natalie Munro has finished third in the season long Scottish Womens Road Race Series.  The Series is made up of  five road races across the season.  The first race back in May  was organised by MFCC. 14 May 2016  Munlochy (near Inverness), Moray Firth CC 5 June 2016    Tour de Gladhouse , Edinburgh RC 14 August 2016   Sharon Argue Memorial  (Falkirk) 27 August 2016   Feew-side (Banchory), Deeside Thistle 11 September 2016   Sally Anne Low Memorial (Aviemore), Cairngorm CC Natalie earned her podium spot by finishing consistently well in all the races; never out of the top 10.  Her highest place finish was in the Few-side Race in Aberdeen where she achieved a podium place. 1. 2015 Highlights | Off Road

Scottish Grand Vet Champion 2015 – Gregor Grant Fraser was too busy riding to stop and take photos – but here’s the route, all 550 miles of it. Mountain Biking Gregor Grant won the grand vets xc championship and the overall series. Fraser MacBeath competed in the Highland Trail 550 and picked up an excellent 3rd place against some top endurance MTB riders. Time 5d,17h,23m. 2015 Highlights | Time Trialling

National Callum Finlayson won the Scottish middle distance Best All Rounder (BAR) with at speed of 26.498mph. Callum also picked up more national podium spots with up a silver in the national 50tt and a bronze in the 100tt. Lewis Mcfarlane won a silver in the Youth A Scottish Time Trial Championship after a successful season winning most of the Youth TT’s in the North. Best All Rounder The womens North of Scotland BAR, for the fastest time over 10 and 25 miles, was won by Penny Phillips with a speed of 23.6pmh. Moray Firth also won the womens team competition with Laura Nicolson, and Penny Phillips combining for a   speed of 23.3pmh. Brian Nicolas of Moray Firth Cycling Club has won the North Scotland Special TT Series.  There were strong performances from other members of Team MFCC with Natalie Munro took silver in the Womens competion, and Kenny Riddle taking bronze in the scratch. Midweek Time Trail Series Results

The Moray Firth Cycling Club midweek time trial series has been taking place around Inverness across the summer.  The series of four ten mile time trials took place on two different courses; Daviot and Cawdor.  The series was ‘open’ and riders from all the local cycling clubs, and some not so local clubs took part in the well attended events.
